"1:26 AM, running on caffeine and adrenaline." That's the photo that sums up TEDxSriSairamIT for me.
I was on the technical team, which at a student-run TEDx means you're holding up a lot of the event without anyone in the audience knowing.
What we handled
- Built the official event website
- Ran online ticketing
- Owned the full tech setup, including a last-minute livestream for people who couldn't get tickets
The livestream
That last one was the real test. I'd never touched a camera or set up a broadcast before, and there I was figuring it out live. About 30 minutes of trial, error, and a tangle of wires later, the stream was up for everyone who missed out.
A conversation I didn't expect
The best part wasn't the tech, though. I got talking to Mr. Magizhan Selvan, CEO of Namma Yatri, about where mobility in Chennai is headed. Left that conversation genuinely fired up about it.
Behind the scenes
1:26 AM grind, 6 AM stage setup, the livestream actually working. I learned more in that one night than in weeks of normal work, mostly because I got thrown straight into the deep end.
